Where it started.

Hanabi is a cooperative card game in which you can see everyone’s cards except your own. Good play depends on shared conventions and what a clue means to somebody else. That is a fascinating problem to turn into software.

What I’m exploring.

Finesse University explores the game and its bots. Finesse.cards extends that work into a place to reconstruct scenarios and discuss decisions. The bot work includes reproducible benchmarks and tools for inspecting why a game went wrong.

Where it stands.

An evolving family of projects: the mobile game and the Finesse.cards community have different interfaces and development histories. The image shows the mobile game.
